At our September 9, 2024 meeting we heard a presentation about how the Mission Foot Pursuit 5K run raises money for the Mission Cadet Program, the largest cadet program in LAPD. It serves about 150 kids, providing training, uniforms and life skills, preparing them for the future. The cadet program is not funded by LAPD, but by fundraising and requires a budget of about $45,000. The Mission Hills Neighborhood Council voted to sponsor the Mission Foot Pursuit to help fund the cadet program.
