North Hills East Neighborhood Council approved an Neighborhood Purpose Grant in September for North Valley Caring Services for their year end events. In light of the current state of SNAP benefits and the increase that they have been experiencing in requests for food assistance, they have modified their events to focus more heavily on their drive through and walk up food pantries for the the rest of the year.

On Halloween, NHENC further helped to participate by handing out pumpkins during the drive through and small bags of Halloween treats during the walk up pantry events. Cars were lined up around the corner and down Sepulveda, some stating that they had waited two hours in their cars to come through, people started lining up a 9:00 a.m. to wait for the walk up pantry to open at 1:00 p.m and that line was around the block! NVCS serving this community!
