Home Composting Workshop

Residents are invited to attend a Home Composting and Urban Gardening Workshop with Steve List, local teacher, landscaper, and president of the San Fernando Valley chapter of the California Association of Nurseries and Garden Centers. This workshop features hands-on learning focused on sustainable living and community gardening. Participants will learn practical composting techniques, including worm bins, and gain tips on caring for deciduous fruit trees, with opportunities to purchase compost bins and enter a raffle for gardening prizes.

The workshop will take place on Saturday, January 31, from 9:00am to 11:00am at the LAPD Devonshire PALS Youth Center in Northridge. Free bare-root strawberry plants will be available while supplies last. The event is presented in partnership with LA Sanitation and Pacoima Beautiful.
